Austin Alling

Ive been a bike racer/rider my whole life. I went to everything from the track to PIR to cyclocross. I grew up hanging with Luciano’s son at the races while Luciano was in the booth/tent. Raced on the tandem, road and cross. Never really got into riding mountain bikes until after i came back. When im not riding and racing bikes i can be found at kiwanis events, working on model a fords, or spending time with friends and family.

A few questions for Austin

How did you get into bike racing?

My dad was big into racing bikes. I started when i was young then raced til i was 17. Stepped away for 10 years to focus on life and came back in 2021.

What is your favorite race or ride, and why?

One of my favorite races was always the Barton park cross race. When i was 10-11 years old we were at the race and my dad stole my bike to finish his race. And when i decided to give cross a shot it was one of my first races. sisters stampede is another just because its always usually the weekend after my birthday and a good reason to go to bend for a couple days. One of my favorite rides is always 7 mile hill in the gorge. Start in hood river up around Rowena point down the switchbacks to the dalles, then up and over what’s called 7 mile hill road.

What rides and races are on your bucket list?

Eventually id love to do Seattle to portland. Ive been told i should try it at least once just to say ive done it.

What is your favorite thing (or things) about the Dialed Cycling Team?
